Homework from last night and in class thing today. Goddammit...drawing food always makes me fucking hungry. *has to go to dentist like...now...so...ugh.*

Also, sketches I did while watching boring slides and on the rickety annoying bus ride home....effin public transportation. >_<

*runs out door...like now. Be back later?*

Angles of life...Still Life...No 2 and 3

So here's day 2 and day 3 of that still life the drawing teacher I have right now made us do. Shapes and angles and technical crap galore! Exactly what I want to do!

(Well, sorta...it also makes my brain hurt. ALOT. But in that sorta....uh...for a lack of better word....hooah sorta way.)

More work to be done. Homework this weekend. Homework? I'm supposed to have summer off? Whatever. I don't care anymore. I know the teacher was like all "are you having fun yet?" sometimes before he'd look at what I was doing- I guess I had a serious expression on my face or something.

Fun? What the hell is that? I dunno. Call me crazy...but I really don't give a shit about fun anymore. I'm sick of being on the bottom (or close to it-although I AM in a world of hotshots anyways)....I want some freaking respect, and if I have to give myself arthritis in the process, then so be it. FUN. Is working your ass off. Or it's all I know in this world. I stay in my room. I draw and do homework. I go on my computer. Maybe every blue moon I have a social life. Add drinking in liberal amounts, especially after my birthday in October. Huh.

I dunno. Sometimes I can't see what the hell I work for anymore. Oh well.

Anyways...I kinda feel like drawing some more so we'll see what comes out tonight. Sleep may or may not eventually. I hold it in such little regards, this "sleep" thing....

One Angle on Life....Still Life....

For awhile I'm taking art classes at my local university- the first is a Drawing class. My illustration teacher believes I can't draw? Well. Time to get back to basics then. Rebuild house some. And when he asks me what I did, I can be like, "I put my effin nose to the grindstone and drew my arse off."

This is a still life that's set up right now in the classroom. We're going to be drawing this for two more days from different angles...this is the first I did yesterday.

Okay, now, the strange part is that he's making us invent textures and the lighting? Ugh. I prefer when teachers set the lighting for me....makes less things for me to screw up on, how's about I just practice on drawing life...like life?

Oh well. Try again today.

One effed up demon deserves another.

Seriously, I have so many problems falling asleep any earlier than 2 in the morning. Fuck. This has gotta be fixed though as I have morning art classes starting next week.

Anyways....after I finished K *points to the rather demonic looking fellow in the previous post*....I couldn't help but miss for a moment Matt's not so-wonderful half. Because he's fun to think of scenarios for....but like Keegan that's because he's an overpowered asshole.

I had drawn a doodle in one of my mini moleskines that was the basis for this picture...blew it up and then detailed it some more. Little messy but I think it got the job done.

Both Matt and Keegan are pretty, well, bad when their demonic sides decide to manifest themselves....neither of them I'd like to run into. One's gonna burn, crush you and spread your ashes into the wind. The other one is gonna tear you apart until you're a mangled gnawed on mess.

And it doesn't take much observation to guess which one is which. Sometimes I think Matt is the worse off of the two....Keegan, sure, has some revenge and anger issues from all those years alone, which make him a bit prone to overreact with violence, but still, he has to get controlled before he'll snap. Otherwise K is a decently nice guy who will do anything to protect his friends and family, and who just happens to fall into some unfortunate situations.

Matt...he also got shoved into some pretty unfortunate situations...in particular...he got abused in multiple ways as a kid. He had a wonderful battle which left him with those scars you see on his face and torso, along with a traumatic brain injury (side effects= an eternal dull migraine and impaired judgement.). Which certainly made it easier for him to be affected by the stress of life (considering he's a soldier), develop some sort of mental psychosis/hallucinations/whatever, and purely by his own will, turn into a psychotic serial killer. Who enjoys beating the crap out of people, shocking them, turning them into bloody little bits, and who wants nothing but to be "stronger" than everybody else. And to him the only way to do that is through a fight, considering that's how everybody showed they were better than him when he was growing up and the sane part of his adult life.

But, right now in the story we're not to that part yet. So this part of Matt is probably waiting, bored, somewhere in the recesses of his fucked up brain. :T Nothing to worry about, people. You're safe.

For now.

What the hell are you looking at?

So many character concept arts spew outta my brain lately. This is up to the inks...colors....coming...eventually....coffee break first.

Edit: Colors. I wouldn't want to find this in a dark alley....o_o

boredom boredom boredom.

Not up to much today. Waiting around for something interesting to happen. I twiddled with another sketch I had done, "inking" and coloring it in Painter+then post processing in Photoshop.

Despite the universe all these characters coming from being some undefined alternate "future"....I am fully convinced that NOBODY there knows how to use a camera correctly. At least whatever low ranked numbnutt was assigned on this particular day to take pictures of his/her fellow soldiers. LOL.

Or maybe some nuclear bomb knocked out all the high resolution digital cameras/Nikons/whatever and the world was forced to redesign all the cameras from scratch. And they all turned out crappy and grainy. LOL.

Insomnia leads to interesting things.....

I couldn't fall asleep. A certain somebody came up with the concept that Alex has a Zippo.

HMMMM.......

*fought the boredom of insomnia by pulling up Illustrator and doing a mockup image*

I imagine he's had plenty of Zippos up the wazoo (and still does)...but this was the first one he actually bothered to keep around as a keepsake? LOL?

Okay. Now sleepies. Night. XD

Warm filters.....ooooohhhhh....

FINALLY I finished this effin picture. *got lazy on the background one day and then left it alone...for..several weeks. oops.*

MAC ATTACK.

Okay, so,today with my mother we went to the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture here in Spokane, other wise known as the "MAC Museum". Their big exhibit right now is a Sci-Fi costume exhibit on loan from the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle. It's awesome that a rinky dink city like Spokane can SOMETIMES manages to get cool stuff around.

Anyways, unfortunately though, the MAC museum would not allow any photos to be taken of the exhibit. Darn. So.....hmmm.....the solution to that problem was well, nobody told me I couldn't DRAW things. So came my new moleskine mini sketchbook and off I went.

(some have color- I added that when I got home as I don't tend to lug around watercolor kits too....I should maybe though.)

There were a few more things that were awesome (GHOSTBUSTERS+PROTON PACK POWA!!!), that I didn't have the energy to sketch out, but...I'm going back to the MAC museum on Saturday to attend a lecture they have there with this artist who used to work for Disney/Lucasarts/Cyan Worlds *Myst/Riven, local gaming studio*, among other things, so I might draw some more.

I also wanted to take reference shots of some of the houses in my neighborhood for my comic...but....I was tired by the time I finished these sketches and wanted to go home. Next time? =/

Holy another sketchbook dump!

So I recently finished another sketchbook...this time it was one of my mini 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 Moleskine sketchbooks that I try and carry with me EVERYWHERE I go, no matter what, so I always have paper to draw/write notes on. (Thank god for pants with multiple pockets too so I don't have to go lugging around backpacks.)

Anyways. Just a bunch a random. Like most sketchbooks. Some are common characters I draw, some is research for illustration I had to do during the year...some is just random.

Portfolio Site Updates

Okay, so, RogueSTUDIO, as I'm calling some sort of ident for myself... has examples of my college work this year (my "portfolio"...although IT WILL change next year as I do more work for school, obviously). Go check it out. I don't have the photo or 3D section done yet, and in regards to the 3D, I don't think I can do anything with it until I return to FL in August as my old 3D work is backup on my PC desktop which I don't have here in WA....

Also, there is a little section on the "Projects-Rebel Forces" page that's worth checking out if you like concept art. Some old pieces, some pieces that have already been posted here before...even a couple that I don't think ANYBODY has seen or I've just started fairly recently. These two in particular, I'll repost them for those who don't really care to look at my portfolio site (you meanies).....XD

I still have to color this...for the record it's "JTF-7 Squad Nine"....which means it's a pre-REDUX thing....when it's colored and post-processed, It'll be a "photo" of a younger Ryusho (Rogue), Alex (Zero), and as I drew in an earlier post, Ryusho's little brother Kamiya. Who isn't alive in the start of where I plan on doing things with Rebel Forces...hopefully. This is during their time in "Joint Task Force 7", which if you read the wiki...was where Rogue and Zero got their powers over elements from and was a multi-nation special operations team...Black as black ops go.

One day I got bored and tried to make one of those Flash avatar things of...Ryusho. I was going to animate this, but then I found out that animating ala avatar style...kinda sucks because it's like working a digital puppet. I still have the Flash file, MAYBE sometime down the line I'll finish it. But at least I have a nice "avatar" or "chibi" version of Ryusho...that's cute looking. LOL.

Oh, and if you're having problems looking at the images on my portfolio site, just FYI, I would suggest checking to see if you have the latest version of Java. The image galleries I set up are those neat Javascript box things but I know some browsers have problems with it unless they update their Java program. Kay? Kay.

Setting up that script was kinda a pain in the arse. I'm glad it's done. Sleep time now. Later.

PORTFOLIO SITE. FINALLY.

Look at what I made, and then check out the link! (It SHOULD look something like what you see in the following image- but I haven't tested it on multiple computers yet...it seems to look fine on both the current version of Firefox and Safari for OSX...)

RogueSTUDIO

Well, for various reasons (mainly at the very slight possibility I may be crazily going after a graphic design internship in the area, or whatever freelance I can get for the money- thanks a lot, economy...), FINALLY, I've designed a portfolio site that I can be decently happy with for the time being. Go check out the barebones I've got up....I still need to put together the Javascript image tool though...so.....my portfolio kinda...isn't up there. At the moment. I'm too tired to try and learn any more web design crap that I already had to do to put together what you see there. But at least now I remember how the hell to at least use the basics of Dreamweaver (and the code the program makes has gotten A LITTLE better, although surely a web design master would be picking apart the code shaking their heads...)

(I might consider buying a domain name when I have money again...if I have money again. Ugh. I hate job hunting.)

Sleep. Later.

More Painter practice/RF concept art

Well, now, while watching Forrest Gump, I decided to color another picture I had sketched out.....

Kamiya Takayama
is Ryusho's younger brother- he was killed before "Redux" begins in a battle that set Ryusho (Rogue) on his current path of life- hunting down and killing demons. Something like that.

There's another couple sketches I still have to color, involving Kamiya and Ryusho and Alex.....but the movie is over now and sleep sounds real nice. Maybe tommorow.

Forrest Gump is such a sweet movie. If only my life were that simple. LOL.

Whatcha gonna do when he comes for you?

Some drawings take forever to me to draw and color.

Others, apparently, don't. During my favorite wrestling program I decided to get started on that pic for Keegan's bio page. I got it done by the end of it....and then slapped it into Painter, added some Watercolor, and well....

I'm almost done with Matt's new bio pic too....as well as I sketched some other things to be colored in the next couple of days. Hmm. Yay.

EDIT: Alternate version plus some post processing in Photoshop?
