*NYAAAAA* BOKU WA NEKO DA YO.

Good morning. Thanks to the power of coffee (Specifically, freshly ground Evergreen Blend from a fine coffee brewer in Seattle *lub*), I have cats and doodles.

We were supposed to "visually journalize" some sort of thing/event/place....I went to a cat shelter in town with some friends. So I got to draw kitties. Also ink is my friend.

TSUGIWA:

Also, a drawing I sketched one night....Rogue and his brother Kamiya apparently popped out. I may add color later?

I found myself in history of architecture (SNOREEEEE) class drawing...apparently trying to roughly design out a logo...as hopefully EVENTUALLY I'm getting the site up. I swear I REALLY want to, but I've been zooed with school work. X_x

MORE CHARACTER DESIGN?

Oh gawd. So the next assignment in Computer ILL is....you guessed it....MORE character design! As if I didn't enough of that in Illustration, now Computer Illustration wants me to do it!

Lucky me can slap out character turnarounds/concept all day though.....

Here's what I'm working on for that one. Not done yet. Still need to add more 1980's retro goodness to it (and shading/texture)

This would be Kenneth Haller...a character in a story I wrote back in high school and was my first (failed) webcomic attempt freshman year of college. It was about East/West Germany during the Cold War....and werewolves. =/ Somewhat interesting in concept, and I liked the relationships between the main character and his family.... but if I were to go back to it, I would DEFINATELY do more research on East/West Germany and the time period as there were lots of cliches in the script (as I was well, you know, a HIGH SCHOOLER...lol).

Not to mention Kenneth..yeah....that is TOTALLY a German name, I swear....but...If I think about it I THINK he was the only one in his family I gave an English name to....wait...no....him and the main character's older brother, Damon...but that one was intentional as while traditionally Damon is not a German given name....."Dämon" in German means....um....Demon. And he was the antagonist character of one story.

Anyways. One comic project at a time, maybe one day although not now I'll come back to that world. Later.

YOU'RE NOT YOUR F***** JOB.

I've been in a bit of a rut lately. Feeling very, very overwhelmed and down with work. But work does not disappear, so um...yeahhh.

Some BS stuff for Computer IL, speed drawn and done in Illustrator. No idea if I did it "right"...but.....at least I made a....somebody? It's not hard to figure who it is?

(hint: he's a character from one of the most famous/popular movies of the 90's.)

(Also I apologize if the color is screwed up a bit- it was even worse when I uploaded it to Blogger somehow....? Like oversaturation or something. @_@.)

Tweaks+playtime

"I'm a fair man, but I'm only going to tell you this once...."
"You aren't exactly in a position to negotiate."
"I would advise you to cooperate and tell me the information I need to know."
"Take the easy way. Trust me."
"Or would you prefer the hard way?"

I think it's pretty much done. Although....one of my classmates joked that I need to frame it letter box and add subtitles. Sooo....

teehee. Also my new wallpaper, I think. XD

You know who I am?

And....yeah. Hi Jason. What the hell did you do to Matt? >_>

(This illustration is pre crit at the moment so things may or may not change if I feel like it....but pre crit I'm rather pleased with this anyways. =) )

MAVERICK HUNTERSSSSSS~~~

And...Sigma. Yeah, they're flat colored, I ran out of time for shading. Maybe I'll tweak with them some more later on.

Also, side by side because it's nice to look at them that way. Plus I made Zero's sword all shiny and whatnot. Yay.

Website Updates and Jason progress

So in light of the upcoming internship and recruitment seasons (and me trying to find an internship over the summer), I updated my website with illustrations and figure designs, as well as minor tweaks to the Rebel Forces page. I also bought a domain name several months ago, so for future knowledge, the address is:

http://www.mariahalmeida.com

Easy to figure, right? Yes. There's some figure work and illustration I have never shown around here I think, so perhaps go check it out if you wish.

And if you've shown up here from there, well, welcome! This is where most of my process work/daily rambles will go, as opposed to my dark and somewhat formal portfolio site. (which I may or may not tweak with in the coming months, it's not as important though for now.). If you REALLY want to know what I do on a daily basis, come round here and I'll try to keep updating...

Also, work on Jason's illustration is going along. I have the rough drawing and a value study (which came before some tweaks to the rough sketch were done) for the final illustration completed. It's due on Monday so you'll get the look at the final sometime then (hopefully if I'm not exhausted).

(*yes, i imagine matt could be dumb enough to end up in a spot like this....>___>* )

So exhausted. It's been a long week. Catch you guys later.

*chugga chugga choo choo*

Zero Ink is (mostly) done. I'm running out of time, I have 3 days to finish Sigma + colors, sooooo......

(Dear god, I need to figure out how to ink faster....@_@)

EDIT: AND NOW IN COLOR (Quickly applied flat color to them so later I won't be killing myself over that???)

(still need most of the shading tho.)
