F**k YEAH.

Starting to get into the swing of things- although- OMFG, BACKGROUNDS ARE PAINFUL. BUT IT'S GOING ON! EFF YEAH!

(of course, pencils are one matter, inks are another....so is color but I'm not sure these prologue pages are going to be in color anyways....)

If backgrounds are painful, head over to a comic shop and see how other artists handle them.

Some books you should look at:
1.) Blacksad
2.) Hellboy (or anything illustrated by Mike Mignola for that matter...)
3.) Electropolis
4.) Akira (Yes, check that manga out!)

Of those, #2 and #3 will teach you how to simplify your backgrounds... The Akira comics should give you an idea of how much detail you can have (cause, dear god, Otomo fits so much in a single panel sometimes), or how little you can lack from time to time. And, of course, Blacksad is just good reference for colored backgrounds.

Also, a general rule is, for every 2 panels that lack a background, there needs to be 1 panel with a background.
