Late night doodle.

Was watching Grey's Anatomy on DVD and doodling on my mom's Tablet PC. Decided to make a rare Tegaki thing because...um...I like drawing on my mom's Tablet PC. I'm envious of her. Just picked a random subject and well....

Apparently Vegeta of some sort came out. LOL.

Anyways. Night.

My Drill Sgt. has a Dog...his name is Walt.

Okay, well, no, I don't have a Drill SGT, and I'm not at any sort of Basic Training right now. BUT. For the past couple of days I have been feeling a little stressed because the teacher in my figure has been pushing at all of us to improve. I in particular get some flak because I'm an "art school student". This guy taught at art schools before...so he probably knows that I can be pushed pretty damn hard every day because well, art is quite literally MY LIFE right now.

Anyways, picture time!

Although, the part about the dog I wasn't kidding about. He does have a dog named Walt which he's brought to class at least twice. It's a shelter dog he rescued..and he's cute. Maybe I'll take a picture of him one of these days before the class is over. >_>

10101010101!

Apparently this is my 101st post here! W00t! No idea how many of em are actual art posts, but you know, having 100 posts here regardless is a pretty warm and fuzzy feeling.

(and reminds me that I take better care of this place than my devArt account...oops.)

(anddd....I wonder if I should remodel this place- make it a bit more "MINE".....HMMM....)

Oh well. Anyways. Some things from my figure class that's been goin' down and will be until a week or so before I go back to Ringling. (*GASP*)

I missed yesterday though. I was feeling crappy. Never again am I drinking an expresso drink with 5 shots in it again....heart rate+sleep=screwed the fuck up from it. LOL.

digital nonsense

Screwing the fuck around with Photoshop before bed produces random doodle nonsense. Also playin around with this random set of grime brushes I had downloaded at some point from who the fuck knows where. This used to be this picture. LOL. I am the master of Photoshooping images. Now if only illustration was that easy for me...lol. (like- the drawing part. I know I can do this shit, but frankly...it's just playtime for me, not what I want my body of work to resemble. =/)

Edit: Ugh, too tired to fix the crop issue at the bottom. Maybe later. I dunno, again, this was fucking around in Photoshop, not srs bns. >/

Spooge of RF nonsense

And.....a spew of RF related stuff that for the past two weeks I've been trying to get someplace with it (and horribly failing):

1) testing out my oil pastel set I had just bought. Dunno. I had been reading wayyy too much of the MGS comic adaptation beforehand too. (but alas, I fail at emulating Ashley Wood-so far)

2) The more serious test of oil pastels.....ref+brain wandering+Photoshop madness apparantly equals= um....I think this was someplace on the burnt and wrecked floor of their childhood house for WAY too long?

3) After Anime Boston I had a SHITLOAD of sketchcards left over. Which is cool, I like sketch cards. Like making random doodles on them.

4) Also done in sketchcards....not done either. I'm still missing two more stages of Matt. I might do K and others if I get in the mood to do them- I suppose it would help for.....

5-7) These are alluding towards something. I'm not saying what because those who are in the loop actually will be able to deduce what these are tests for kthanxbai. Others can just you know...keep on guessing and probably fail or whatever the hell.

Kay. Yeah. Done with what's been going on for the past couple of weeks. =/ Bai.

Drawing class Dumb *cough*Dump*cough*

Uh...hai again. I've been a little busy thus far this summer. Or rather, I was too involved in life aside from the internet to post here for one reason or another. I won't bore you with the details because I know most of you won't care that much...and those that do can ask me personally. Anyways. The result of my drawing class produced these drawings/illus/whatever.

That's my drawing class drawings. I've had other doodles which I will scan and post in a bit I guess. My motivation for a lot of things has been lacking lately...meh.....life is not all cupcakes and sugarplums...or...whatever the hell they say. =T

I have a figure class I'm gonna be taking until I leave WA for FL again (as of now...oh...a month away. *sigh*), so more will be coming that's not my typical concept art crap too? >_>

Screwin around with a screwdriver....

So, I hope you all had an awesome 4th of July weekend. I sure as hell did. I spent a couple days at my friend's house, playin video games, eatin pizza, getting shitfaced, playing D20 Modern (which is actually decently enjoyable- I seem to be getting the rules a bit better than D&D, either that or my DM is really lax on the rules, lol).

I also drew some stuff over the weekend. Yay. Mind you, they're not absolutely awesome because well, they were just fun doodles havin fun with friends.

In the D20 Modern campaign I decided to snag and tweak with Xavier Reddish, who is from the Rebel Forces universe, but he's WAY in the future and I'm not sure if I'll ever get to him again. (In the RP we're still pretty far behind, the next gen isn't even born yet, much less the future.) So this was his character image...sans you know, the future beam saber stuff, and he's supposedly about 19 here, a resident of Seattle, and a part-time DJ/ college student.

Then the other thing I discovered over the 4th of July weekend was going to the comic book store, I picked up a copy of the comic adaptation of Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty, which is illustrated by the artist Ashley Wood. (who I had thought until very recently was a gurl, but he's really just an Australian guy. Oops.) I was really impressed by the art style of his work somehow, he manages to be messy as hell with paint/ink techniques/digital work, but yet at the same time is precise and communicates images pretty well...tough thing to pull off correctly.

Anyways, I decided to just explore the layouts/a little of the tech he used and copied a page outta the book, but using Matt instead and also fitting the dialogue so it fits him. I think it illustrates the point of how fucked up his head is? And it also helps me explore ways I could possibly do a graphic novel of these guys...which I'm still thinking about doing but I'm not completely sure....I think it's because I'm still trying to deal with making up new material for these guys instead of going over the old and converting it into comic-worthy stuff....eh, and motivation is a bit lacking right now too. Eh.

Anyways. Later. Class now.

How a paper bag kicked my ass

Apparently, paper bags fail to hold my attention long enough to finish the drawing. Because they're HARD to render. Seriously. I dare you. Crumple up a paper bag, then stand it up on a stool. Then draw it. Stare at the damn thing until you want to stab your eyes out rather than stare at it for even longer...doh. >_<

(It was a good exercise though. I'm really enjoying my drawing class thus far.)

Tegaki doodle

I'm jealous of my mother. Her university gave her a Tablet PC (w/ Wacom technology to boot) to use for work. Yet...she doesn't use the tablet at all from what I know.

BUT. I borrow it every now and then. Because I like drawing. I can draw! And cuz there's a little art blog/app site out there called TEGAKI, which I would draw on more often, except that I suck more drawing directly with my Intuos 3....meh...and makes it difficult for me to finish a picture I actually like on that place.

Drawing directly on the screen rocks though. OMG. It makes Tegaki...fun???

(you may have to click on the pic to see the full image....preview images on web linked images seem to not work well stilll....=_=)

Somebody give me a thousand dollars so I can buy a Cintiq tablet. Seriously. I can draw SO much better if I didn't have to you know, hand eye coordinate with a seperate tablet....>_>.....

OMG, I actually remembered to draw K's fire tattoos....although now I know why his player is always like "you forgot them"...lol lol lol. Cuz this pose was inspired by a pic he posted on his myspace. Which shows he actually has tattoos of the kanji for "Fire" (Kai....)on his deltoids. >_>

Anyways. Just a boredom doodle. Bed time soon. the 4th of July weekend is coming up and there will be mass amounts of awesome during it. =D

sketches はもう一度下さい。

A page of sketches I did while being the "Youtube Monkey" (clicked on links) while helping out in my mother's class yesterday.

Motorcycle helmets are hard to draw outta my imagination. lol.
