So, I hope you all had an awesome 4th of July weekend. I sure as hell did. I spent a couple days at my friend's house, playin video games, eatin pizza, getting shitfaced, playing D20 Modern (which is actually decently enjoyable- I seem to be getting the rules a bit better than D&D, either that or my DM is really lax on the rules, lol).
I also drew some stuff over the weekend. Yay. Mind you, they're not absolutely awesome because well, they were just fun doodles havin fun with friends.

In the D20 Modern campaign I decided to snag and tweak with Xavier Reddish, who is from the Rebel Forces universe, but he's WAY in the future and I'm not sure if I'll ever get to him again. (In the RP we're still pretty far behind, the next gen isn't even born yet, much less the future.) So this was his character image...sans you know, the future beam saber stuff, and he's supposedly about 19 here, a resident of Seattle, and a part-time DJ/ college student.

Then the other thing I discovered over the 4th of July weekend was going to the comic book store, I picked up a copy of the comic adaptation of Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty, which is illustrated by the artist
Ashley Wood. (who I had thought until very recently was a gurl, but he's really just an Australian guy. Oops.) I was really impressed by the art style of his work somehow, he manages to be messy as hell with paint/ink techniques/digital work, but yet at the same time is precise and communicates images pretty well...tough thing to pull off correctly.
Anyways, I decided to just explore the layouts/a little of the tech he used and copied a page outta the book, but using Matt instead and also fitting the dialogue so it fits him. I think it illustrates the point of how fucked up his head is? And it also helps me explore ways I could possibly do a graphic novel of these guys...which I'm still thinking about doing but I'm not completely sure....I think it's because I'm still trying to deal with making up new material for these guys instead of going over the old and converting it into comic-worthy stuff....eh, and motivation is a bit lacking right now too. Eh.
Anyways. Later. Class now.
