I really should be sleeping, but I decided to test out this new type of (expensive) illustration board I had bought by putting that drawing of K I'm supposed to be doing for his bio and inking it.
All in all, Strathmore 500 Series Heavyweight Plate Illustration Board....I think I have found a new favorite board (even if it IS hella expensive). If you like ink work,acrylic, or gouache this would probably be a good board. It lacks a real tooth to screw up ink work- but on the flip side, I imagine doing pencil work on this stuff would be real precarious as it smudges easily if you're not careful (I wore cotton gloves while doing this), and it lacks the tooth which would keep pastels or charcoal in place.....
The only problem being that I bought the last two pieces of this board the school store had. Hopefully they will order more? >_>
(Or I could buy it online....I suppose....if they don't restock....arghhh...although I dislike online art supply ordering sometimes as like for example, looking at Dick Blick- I'm not even sure they carry the right item I need. Doh.)
I still have color to do. But I'm too tired right now, I'd probably fu** it up if I tried it now. I'm also debating if I want to try and color it traditionally or digitally- I kinda want this like, Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball creator- yes, I am aware it's a dangerous path emulating a Japanese artist, especially at my school....oh well.) thing with colors- which would require me to use colored inks as that's what he used. But Photoshop or Painter is much easier. But yet that means traditionally I'd just have the inks. DUURRRRRRR.
Time to sleep on it. I also have to still do Matt- the board I'm using is big enough to where I can probably squeeze him on the same board K is on- I tried to put K someplace near a corner so I didn't waste as much expensive space...lol lol lol.
