Loomis-oh Loomis
So apparently last night, instead of fully paying attention to my paper for a liberal arts class (THE LAST FLIPPIN PAPER I WILL EVER WRITE IN THIS PLACE YATTA), I discovered Andrew Loomis' "Fun with a Pencil".
There was an expression sheet page.
Then suddenly I found myself doodling Tobias heads.

Then several hours later I found myself doing the expressions over, but this time, Matt heads came out.

Also blah de da de blah studies of comic book artists using my own characters...sketchbook studies.

(FYI: blame Michelangelo here)

(wacky pictures of Japanese *ish* brothers are inspired by Fruits and Fresh Fruits, LOL)

(apparently this turned into a sketch dump...)

FINALLY DONE
OMFG, after 5 years of toiling, I am on track to graduate with my BFA in a few weeks! I just presented my final body of work (senior project) to my illustration teacher, and so now all I have to do is clean up the work some, frame it, and also some misc senior show stuff!
After the Senior Show I will post the work up here for all to see- don't want to spoil it for those who are coming down to see my stuff!
What's in my future?
- It's very likely that I will be changing the address of this blog. Obviously I will no longer be a Ringling student, but an alumni (wow, it feels strange to say that).
- Look for my web comic. Coming very, very soon. I kid you not, I am literally itching to start it now that I'm free from my senior project work. Maybe I'll have a one shot pencilled/inked out before Spokane Comicon (As an Editor from Dark Horse will be there- wooot).
- I'm torn between trying to pursue my art career further, despite the horrid, horrid economic conditions here in the United States, or, going someplace else. I've also been applying for jobs teaching English overseas (and I know artists who have done that path and then came back to start their real careers, John Kantowitz of Inkmo/How to Draw Manga outta Antarctic Press rings a bell, hell, there's even a WEBCOMIC about "Teach English in Japan"!)
- I really, REALLY want to attend San Diego Comic-Con. I mean, if there's a decent shot of me lining up a contract for some small indie publisher, it's at San Diego.
- I'll also be open for collab projects with other artists.....so...yeah!

ZzZzZz

You know something's up when you draw your characters taking a nap......@_@.....my sleep schedule has sucked royally for the past few weeks because of senior thesis project......almost done though....
(And this is probably a good reason why Nicole likes Matt...sure, he has the power to destroy the world numerous times over if he had nobody in his way, BUT, put him to sleep and, ha ha, apparently he's a snoozing fool (and pillow/cuddle monkey).
